L6 Host Emergency IP Change

Table of Contents

If your SEPIA L6 host is configured with a fixed IP address that is inaccessible on your network, this guide explains how to change the IP address without requiring any network connection to the host.

Prerequisites

  • A USB-A flash drive
  • The SEPIA L6 host must be running on firmware version 0.3.22 or later. Refer to the SEPIA Firmware Update Guide if a firmware update is required.

Note: If your host is not on the required firmware version and is already stuck on an inaccessible IP address, please contact SEPIA Technical Support for assistance.

Prepare USB Flash Drive

Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.

Open a plain-text editor of your choice (for example, TextEdit on macOS).

Define IP Configuration

Decide which IP address you want the host to use.

To assign a static IP address, enter the following line:

					ADDRESS=10.10.10.10/24

Replace 10.10.10.10 with your desired IP address.

To set the host to DHCP mode, leave the text file completely blank.

Note: You may edit this file as many times as needed, just remember to save after each change.

Ensure File is Plain Text

Make sure the file is saved as plain text.

In TextEdit (macOS), go to: Format → Make Plain Text.

Save Configuration File

Save the file with the exact name:

					configure-from-usb.cfg

Ensure the file extension is .cfg.

Apply Configuration to Host

Ensure the SEPIA L6 host is powered on.

Insert the USB flash drive into the TOP USB SLOT host, and wait approximately 1 minute for the configuration to be applied.
